CLEAR LAKE – Leonard J. Zrostlik, 77, of Clear Lake died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 10th at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., in Garner with Msgr. John W. Hemann officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 5 P.M., Sunday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel and will resume one hour prior to services at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Leonard James Zrostlik, the son of Joseph and Marie (Malek) Zrostlik, was born January 24, 1940 at Britt. He attended country school and graduated from Britt High School in 1958. Leonard helped on the family farm near Britt and for other farmers in the area before being drafted into the U.S. Army in November of 1965. He served his country in France until his honorable discharge in 1967. In December of 1968, he married Ruth Larson in Britt. They lived in Forest City where they raised their family. They later divorced. Leonard was employed at Winnebago Industries in the quality control department until his retirement in 2002. In 1996 he moved to Clear Lake. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching NASCAR and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings fan.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake and was a Third-Degree Knight of Columbus.

Leonard is survived by his two children, Tonia (Greg) Pierce of Norwalk and Matthew Zrostlik of Forest City; four grandsons, Garrett Pierce, Caleb Zrostlik, Dawson Pierce and Corbin Pierce; a brother, Ed (Annabelle) Zrostlik of La Mirada, CA; five sisters, Dorothy Hestness of Mason City, Regina Studer of Mason City, Marge Mostrom of Clearwater, FL, Rose Zrostlik of Mason City and Rita (Sam) Shipman of Grimes; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl Zrostlik of Forest City and Connie Zrostlik of Austin, TX; a brother-in-law, Jim Kroger of Lyons, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barb Kroger; and four brothers, Vince, Ray, Bernie and Don Zrostlik.
