Robert A. Hanna, 92, of Forest City, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Forest City with Pastor Les Green officiating.

Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 29, 2017 at Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark St. Forest City, IA.

Burial will be held in Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City with Veteran Honors performed by the Forest City American Legion Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the Forest City United Methodist Church.

Robert Andrew Hanna was born December 23, 1924 in Grant Township, the son of Edwin and Lois (Wescott) Hanna. Robert entered into the United States Army on January 25, 1943, he served his country until his honorable discharge on January 8, 1946. After returning from the service, he was married to Lois Ione Albertson on October 22, 1949. Robert started working at Watertower Paint and Repair in 1948, eventually becoming President of the company until he retired in 2005.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, mowing yards, moving snow and spending time outdoors, he also enjoyed making a occasional visit to Dr. D Jo’s. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of the Forest City American Legion and the Forest City United Methodist Church.

Robert is survived by his sons, Michael (Pam) Hanna of Clear Lake, Steven (Teresa) Hanna of Forest City and David (Mary) Hanna of Forest City; grandchildren, Kari (Shawn) Olson, Travis (Mary Jo) Rieck, Troy Rieck, Melissa (Chatta) Olvera, Erica Hanna, Chris (Holly) Hanna, Shauna (Josh) Hanna-Nollin; fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Eugene (Carolyn) Hanna, Jimmy Hanna; sisters, Darlene Trytten and Donna Loge, special friend, Cheryl Hanna and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lois in 1999 and two siblings, Anelda Stecker and Raymond Hanna.
