BRITT - Lyman D. Dickens, 60, of Britt, died Sunday (April 4, 2010) at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt with Pastor David Mosher officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Lyman Daniel Dickens, the son of Lyman and Charlotte (Riley) Dickens, was born February 17, 1950 at Sioux City, Iowa. He attended school at Sioux City Heelan. Lyman served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Cargill Kitchen Solutions in Mason City. Lyman enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, grilling and his annual camping expedition with his much loved granddaughter, Jamie. Every occasion has created a story to be retold for years to come.
He was a member of the Edwin Jante VFW Post 5515 in Garner.
Lyman is survived by his two children, Jennifer Carpenter and her daughter, Jamie, of Britt and Luke Dickens of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Michelle (Mark) Bonnstetter of Algona; two brothers, Richard (Danielle) Dickens of Marietta, CA and Stephen (Jennifer) Plummer of Council Bluffs; and many other relatives and friends.
