BRITT - Theresa F. Rudisill, 96, of Britt died Thursday (April 16, 2010) at the Summit House in Britt
Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt with Fr. Henry Huber officiating. Burial will be at Bingham Township Cemetery south of Woden.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Monday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt with a rosary at 7 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Theresa Frances Rudisill, the daughter of Albert and Anna May (Heinen) Weishaar, was born June 14, 1913 in Dallas Township, Marion County, Iowa. She attended school in Marion County. She moved with her family to the Woden area where she worked for several families. She eventually was employed as a nanny by her future husband, John Rudisill, following the death of his first wife, Margaret. John and Theresa were married September 19, 1934 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt. They lived their entire married life in Woden. Theresa worked at the Wapello Produce and later the Woden library for many years. After her husband's death in 1993, she continued to lived in Woden. On March 15th of this year she moved to Summit House in Britt. Theresa enjoyed crocheting, dancing, morning coffee with friends and playing cards.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Woden; and after it closed, St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt. She was active with the Ladies Guild and Woden Senior Citizens.
Theresa is survived by her children, Marjorie (Myrle) Cushman, Titonka; John R. (Lynn) Rudisill, Des Moines; Shirley (Richard) Myers, Mesa, AZ; Maryann (Roger) Alphs, Buffalo Center; Janice (Dale) Dillon, Thief River Falls, MN; Charles (Donna) Rudisill, Woden; Elizabeth (Frank) Lara, Ventura, CA; and James (Laurie) Rudisill, Wapello; 32 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd (Dottie) Weishaar; Algona; and four sisters: Gladys Stalzer, Algona; Pauline (Carl) Peter, Algona; Geraldine Weishaar; Algona; and Bertha Engstler, Seattle, WA.
She was preceded in death by her husband John; daughters Gladys McClanahan and Darlene Swartz; parents; son-in-law Bob McClanahan; grandsons David Cushman and Robert McClanahan; granddaughter Beverly Lewis; great-great grandson Jayden Robinson; sister Dorothy Warehime; and brothers Carl and Edwin Weishaar.

I have so many fond memories of Teresa...she was such a good friend to my mother, Teresa Brandt. I was fortunate to visit with her last year in Woden when I was passing through.
We are very sorry for your loss, she was a great neighbor and will be terrible missed.
