GARNER - Doris C. Olson, 81, of Garner died Monday (November 3, 2008) at the Good Shepherd Health Care Center in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Friday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner with Rev. Frank Beaty officiating. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cataldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Doris Charlene Olson, the daughter of Charles and Rose (Goll) Haes, was born March 13, 1927, on a farm west of Garner. She attended the rural schools of Garfield Township and graduated from Garner High School. After high school, she worked as an operator for AT & T in Garner. In 1947, she was married to Duane Olson at her parent's home in Garner. To this union two children were born, Bonnie and Kenneth. They made their home in Garner for a time before moving to Manly. Doris enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Garner.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Rex) Livingston of Webster City; three grandsons, John (Krissy) Livingston of Walton, KY, Jason Livingston of Florence, KY and Jay (fiancée, Jessica) Livingston of Waukee; three great grandchildren, John Patrick, Dora and Anella Livingston; two sisters, Pearl Barkema of Garner and Ruth Trampel of Klemme; a brother, Dale (Arlene) Haes of Hobbs, NM; and many nieces and nephews.
