GARNER - Lena Blank, 91, of Naples, FL, formerly of Garner, died Sunday (February 22, 2009) at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Saturday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner with Rev. David Wagner of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral chapel.

Lena Arleta Blank, the daughter of Homer and Bernice (Nobles) Waggoner, was born May 10, 1917 at Ellston, IA. She graduated from Beaconsfield High School. On May 5, 1943, she was married to Lehman Blank at Joplin, MO. They lived in Des Moines for a time before moving to Torrance, CA in 1958. Lena and Lehman owned and operated Diamond Realty in Torrance until retiring in 1975. After Lehman passed away in 1991, Lena moved to Sarasota, FL to be near her daughter, Linda. In 2000, she moved to Naples, FL. In their retirement years, Lena and Lehman enjoyed traveling all over the United States in their motor home.

She was a member of Eastern Star - Fuchusia Chapter # 4250ES and the California Board of Realtors.

Lena is survived by her daughter, Linda Petersen, of Naples, FL; two granddaughters, Krista (Andrew) Nanton of Meban, NC and Tiffany Petersen of Honolulu, HI; a sister, Lillie Bouge of Prescott, AZ; sisters-in-law, Tessie (Marvin) Johnson of Garner, Eunice Johnson of Garner, Joann Blank of Peoria, IL and Marcia Blank of Garner; and a brother-in-law, Sylvester (Emogene) Blank of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lehman; and two sisters, Alda Brown and Neva Reynolds.
