FOREST CITY - Betty Lusson, age 76 of Clear Lake, formerly of Forest City, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.



A Mass of the Ressurection will be celebrated on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City with Fr. Henry Huber officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church.



Inurnment will be in the spring at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Forest City.



Elizabeth (Betty) J. Lusson was born in Cresco, Iowa on December 7, 1931, the daughter of Jerry and Clara (Balk) Neubauer. She received her education in Cresco and graduated from Assumption High School. After high school she worked for a time as a bookkeeper at the REC.





On January 26, 1953 she was united in marriage to Daryl Lusson at Assumption Catholic Church in Cresco. Darylís work as a territory manager for the Bigelow Carpet Company kept the family on the move and they lived in several Midwestern communities over the years. In 1975 they made their home in Forest City. Since 2006, Daryl and Betty have lived at the Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.





Betty was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed reading, embroidery, latch-hook and taking car rides with her husband. She worked part-time at Big Bear and did some bookkeeping for Daryl. She loved spending the mornings with her coffee group. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Forest City.





Betty is survived by her husband Daryl of Clear Lake, IA and three children: Connie Lusson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Ron (Heidi) Lusson of Crystal Lake, Iowa and Rhonda Hennigar and fiancee Gary Michels of Ventura, Iowa. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Philip Lusson, Kim Lusson, Audra Hopper, Charlie Kraft and Jessica Smidt; two brothers, Donald Neubauer of Cresco, Iowa and Jerry Neubauer of Decorah, Iowa.





Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Zachary.
