Carol J. Trampel, 75, of Forest City, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 810 State St., Garner, IA with Pastor Scott Kozisek officiating.
Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Monday (March 24, 2014) at Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St. Forest City, IA.
Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Carol J. Trampel memorial fund in care of the family.
Carol J. Trampel the daughter of Henry O.E. and Lydia (Hinz) Kinne was born March 13, 1939. She attended Lu Verne High School, graduating in 1957. On February 23, 1958 she was united in marriage to Melbourne 'Mel' J. Trampel at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. The couple lived on a farm near Rockwell where they farmed for thirteen years. In April of 1972 they moved to Fertile were she began work at the Fertile School. Later she worked for many years at Forest City schools where she drove bus and did custodial work. The couple moved to rural Clear Lake, Swaledale and then in October of 1985 they moved back to the family farm in rural Rockwell. In 2003 she moved to Oakridge drive in Forest City before finally residing at the Good Samaritan Home in Forest City in 2010.
Carol enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, puzzles and had a love for animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carol is survived by her two children; Debra(Tom) Cunningham of Leland, IA, Dan Trampel of Forest City, IA, Grandchildren; Nick(Jessica) Cunningham of Leland, IA, Jacob Cunningham of Cedar Rapids, IA, Joshua Cunningham of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mathew Reed of rural Rockwell, IA, Andrea Reed of rural Rockwell, IA, Colin Reed of rural Rockwell, IA, son in-law Jim Reed of rural Rockwell, IA, Great Grandson; Aaiden Cunningham of Leland, IA, twin brother Carl Kinne of Spokane, WA, many nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Melbourne 'Mel' J. Trampel, Daughter; Darla Reed, three brothers; Don Kinne, Luther Kinne, infant Jimmy Kinne and sister; Lillian Neimeyer.
