Charles J. Ruiter, age 22 of Forest City, died Saturday, June 3, 2006 in Forest City. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 2:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City with Rev. Jerry Blake officiating. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, June 6 at the funeral home and an hour prior to service at the church.





Charles Joseph Ruiter was born in Mason City, Iowa on February 10, 1984, the son of Byron and Barbara (Fank) Ruiter. He attended Forest City schools and graduated from Forest City High School in 2002. On September 11, 2001, he was chosen the Forest City High School Homecoming King. Charlie continued his education, graduating from NIACC in Mason City. While there, he was chosen to participate in a weekís training with the John Poppajohn Entrepreneurial Program.





Charlie worked for Pizza Hut for six years, here in Forest City and as store manager for the Algona Pizza Hut. Most recently he was employed with Stellar Industries in Garner.





Charlie loved spending time with his family ñ together, they had traveled over much of the United States. He enjoyed camping. He liked to fish and grill and enjoyed listening to music. His family remembers his wonderful sense of humor. He was a lifelong member at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City. He lived every minute of life to the fullest. He cared for and loved all his friends and family.





Charlie is survived by his fiancÈe, Kristen Williams of Forest City, his parents, Byron "Barney" and Barb Ruiter of Forest City, sister Cynthia Ruiter and friend Rick Query of Mason City, brother Patrick Ruiter and fiancÈe Nicole Bengtson of Mason City, a niece and his little pal, Lillian Vera, his maternal grandmother, Margaret Madsen of Forest City, paternal grandparents Willie and Vera Ruiter of Mason City, many aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.





He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Charles Fank.
