LELAND - Edith M. Knudtson, 85, of Rochester, MN, formerly of Leland died Saturday, May 26, 2013 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Rochester.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Winnebago Lutheran Church in rural Lake Mills with Pastor Bill Peters officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service at the Winnebago Church. Burial will be at Winnebago Lutheran Cemetery.

Edith was born November 3, 1927 in Winnebago County to Casper (Andrew) and Annie (Anderson) Larson. She graduated from Lake Mills High School and married Karl H. Knudtson on July 1, 1949 at the Church of Christ in Mason City. She was a long-time member of Salem Lutheran Church of Lake Mills with her husband and family. Edith resided at Madonna Meadows in Rochester the past two years and lived in Mason City for a number of years after moving there from the family farm north of Leland.

Edith worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at Leland Manufacturing Company, published the monthly POA magazine at Graphic Publishing Company, worked at the Graphic Newspaper and Deluxe Products, all in Lake Mills. She also worked with her husband Karl in his woodworking business. Edith enjoyed music, square dancing, sewing, cooking, crocheting and shopping. She also enjoyed traveling around the country and spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Kirk (Sue) Knudtson of Kasson, Minnesota and Kody (Stacey) Knudtson of Chandler, Arizona; her daughter, Annette (Rick) Hesse of Mason City; a sister, Alice Searcy of El Paso, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preced in death by her husband, Karl; great-granddaughter, Stephanie; brothers, Clarence and Orean; sisters, Jessie, Clara, Laura, Eunice, and Mavis.
