FOREST CITY - Jeannette A. Baker, 87, of Forest City died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, September 30, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Inurnment will be at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM, Sunday, September 29th at Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark Street, Forest City and continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Jeannette Alene Baker, the daughter of Robert Lee and Bessie (Larson) Hanson, was born December 3, 1925 in Goldfield, Iowa. She graduated from Hayfield Consolidated School.

On June 3, 1943, she married Albert Baker in Fairmont, MN. The couple farmed southeast of Forest City their entire married lives before retiring from farming and moving into town in the spring of 2000. Besides helping on the farm Jeannette also worked at the Chuckwagon Cafe and Bill's Family Foods, Forest City. She enjoyed her family, refinishing furniture, gardening, sewing, crafts, needlework, keeping in touch with family and friends through email and facebook and especially camping at Rocky Creek in Crystal Lake.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and WELCA (women's circle).

Jeannette is survived by her three children, Gene (Gerry) Baker of Garner, Carolyn Krogmeier of Chester, VA and Candi (Terry) Noteboom of Pella; six grandchildren, Neil Baker, Mark (Wendy) Baker, Hope (Steve) Kimble, Suzanne (Roy) Reynolds, Timothy and Michael Noteboom; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Molly and Ryan Baker, Conner Reynolds and Austin and Megan Kimble; and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert, Nov. 11, 2006; and four siblings, Ruby Howard, LeRoy Hanson, Everett Hanson and Ardith Rose.
