John Carl Nygard

GARNER - John C. Nygard, 56, of Garner died Friday, March 23, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Cataldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

John Carl Nygard, the son of Carl and Delila (Strom) Nygard, was born March 27, 1955 at Grand Rapids, MN. He attended Britt and Garner-Hayfield Community Schools. John continued his education at Iowa Lakes Community College where he received his GED and later graduated with an Associates in Applied Science degree in Small Engine Technology. He returned to Garner where he was employed at North Iowa Grain and The Goodnature Store. John enjoyed bowling, church league softball and building plastic model cars.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner.

John is survived by his three brothers, Eugene (Lori) Nygard of Panama City, FL, Charles Nygard of Garner and Neil Nygard of Garner; nieces, Kim, Tanya and Danielle Nygard and Christina Martinez; nephew, Joshua Nygard; and great-nieces, Kylan Nygard and Laurie and Emily Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rebecca Nygard.
