In 1960 they moved to Mason City; and in 1966 she went back to work as a nurse's aide at Park Hospital for several years. She was a talented seamstress and owned and operated "The Sewing Room" in downtown Mason City for several years. On May 6, 1974 she enjoyed the priviledge of becoming an American citizen.

She loved being with people and loved her prayer meetings with Diane. Since 2005 she had attended the Salvation Army Day Care Center in Mason City and in July 2007 she entered the Alzheimers Unit at Good Shepherd Care Center in Mason City.

She is survived by her children: Karen Mitchell of Ft.
