WESLEY - Lillian Ellen Stalzer, 95, of Wesley died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 29th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wesley with Fr. Peter Duc Jung Nguyen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 P.M., Wednesday at the Cataldo Funeral Home, 178 First Ave. S.W., in Britt with a rosary at 4 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Lillian Ellen Stalzer, the daughter of William, Jr. and Lillian (Presnel) Tiebe, was born November 19, 1916 on a farm near Primrose, Iowa. She attended rural school until the eighth grade and then worked in home health care for the elderly in the area. On December 27, 1951 she was married to Cletus A. Stalzer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wesley. They lived on a farm east of Wesley where she was a homemaker and assisted her husband, Cletus, in their refrigeration business. In 1978, they moved into Wesley and added an appliance store to their refrigeration business. In 1989 they retired from the business. After Cletus passed away in March of 2000, she continued to live at home with the help of her family. She enjoyed reading, listening to talk radio, gardening and working with animals.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Lillian is survived by her five children, Jerry (Karen) Stalzer of Ft. Madison, Cecil Stalzer of Clear Lake, Raymond Stalzer of Wesley, Wayne (Christina) Stalzer of Cedar Falls and Edwin Stalzer of Wesley; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Stalzer of Dallas, TX, Alice Stalzer of Livermore and Josephine Stalzer of Madison, SD; and brothers-in-law, Leroy Stalzer of Kanawha and Earl Stalzer of Humboldt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cletus; daughter, Joyce Stalzer; and sisters, Ruth Tiebe and Irene Pyle
