Lorraine S. Cohrs, 88, of Garner died Monday, January 18, 2021 at Prairie View Apartments in Garner.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 21, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner with Rev. Scott Kozisek officiating. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Atlantic Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on the Cataldo Funeral Home Facebook page.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Lorraine Sophie Cohrs, the daughter of Milton and Louise (Herrig) Readinger, was born October 22, 1932 in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1950. After high school Lorraine worked at Brown Shoe Store in Atlantic. On December 31, 1950 she was married to Duane Cohrs at Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. The couple farmed near Atlantic where they raised their family. In 1974, they moved to Clear Lake. Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper at Community State Bank. She later was employed at Clear Lake Bank and Trust until retiring in 1994. Upon her retirement, she and Duane moved to Ventura Heights. In June of 2014 she moved to Prairie View Apartments in Garner. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, camping, sewing and gardening.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner and was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ventura where she was active in DORCAS and a quilting group.
Lorraine is survived by her three daughters, Pamela (Ray) Nielsen of Avoca, Julie (Brian) Zwald of Farmington, MN and Kristie (David) Christians of Garner; an exchange student son, Hiro Yoshida of Japan; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; twin sister, Lorene Aldag of Atlantic; two sisters-in-law, Judy Readinger of Springfield, MO and Kay Readinger of Urbandale; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; two sons, Dann and Douglas Cohrs; three brothers, Kenneth, Dale and Chuck Readinger; two sisters, Shirley Readinger and Phyllis Waltemeyer; parents-in-law, CJ and Adele Cohrs; a brother-in-law, Karl Aldag.
