GARNER - Lucille M. Klesel, 74, of Garner died Thursday (January 12, 2012) at her home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 16th at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Fr. Paul Lippstock officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 P.M., Sunday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., in Garner with a CD of A rosary at 3 P.M. and a Scriptural wake service at 5:30 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Lucille Marie Klesel, the daughter of Francis and Tillie (Pavel) Kriz, was born June 6, 1937 at Brainerd, Nebraska. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1956 and continued her education at La'James Beauty School in Mason City. Lucille then worked as a beautician in Mason City for a number of years. On January 23, 1960 she was married to Robert J. Klesel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. They lived all of their married life on the Klesel family farm northeast of Garner. Besides helping on the farm and raising their three children Lucille also was a beautician in the area for twenty years. In 2009, she retired from the Housekeeping Department at the Hancock County Courthouse after twenty years of employment. She enjoyed spending time with her family and annual trips with her daughter, Julianne. She also was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Minnesota Vikings fan.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, St. Boniface Parish Family and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Bob, of Garner; three children, Michael (Traci) Klesel of Garner, David (Liz) Klesel of Mason City and Julianne Klesel of Garner; four grandchildren, Colter, Melissa, Shannon and Nathan Klesel; and a brother, Gene (Becky) Kriz of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
