FOREST CITY -- Richard A. Clark, age 77 of Forest City, died Monday, April 9, 2007 at his home in Forest City. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Thursday, April 12 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City with Fr. Henry Huber officiating. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, April 11 at the funeral home, with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continued an hour prior to service at the church.







Richard A. Clark was born on August 20, 1929, the son of Robert and Rosa (Gelner) Clark, in Forest City, Iowa, where he lived his entire life. Richard married Michaela Jo Monnahan on December 11, 1954, and from this marriage they raised six daughters.





Richard owned and operated Clarkís Sawmill south of Forest City for 50 years. He was blessed in loving his work and took pride in his business and accomplishments. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cribbage and horseshoes, and traveling in later years.





Richard cherished his wife, Michaela, and was most proud of his daughters and grandchildren. Those who knew Richard will remember his laughter, quick wit, and fun-loving spirit. He was a kind and thoughtful neighbor and could always be counted on to offer a hand to those in need.





Richard died at his home on April 9, 2007 at the age of 77 years.





He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Michaela Clark of Forest City, six daughters; Julie (Bill) Johnson of Norwalk; Kelly Thompson of Van Meter; Lorie (Doug) Bolinger of Forest City; Molly Clark of Van Meter; Nanette (Tony) Wilson of Crystal Lake and Theresa Clark of Van Meter. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Wesley, Jessie, Amanda, Megan, Becky, Rick, Steven, Kalli, Kurtis, Samantha, and Summer; sister Margie Kirschbaum, half-brother Bobby Clark of Minneapolis, half-sister Sharon Scheckloth of Stewartville, MN and his little buddy, Max.





Richard was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth, Milton, and Gordon.
