FOREST CITY - Sharon Hadacek, age 69 of Forest City, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at her home in rural Forest City.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City with Fr. Dennis Miller and Fr. Jerome Verdick officiating. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home 505 N Clark Street in Forest City with a family led Rosary Service from 4:00 to 4:15 PM and a Scripture Service from 6:46 to 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue an hour prior to service at the church.

Sharon was born on November 30th, 1941, in Mason City, IA, the daughter of Howard and Helen (Brandt) Henderson. She attended elementary through high school in Clear Lake, and received her A.A. at Mason City Junior College. Sharon married Robert L. Hadacek on November 18th, 1961, in Clear Lake. They moved to Forest City in 1972.
Sharon was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was known for her cooking, particularly her bread making. She headed numerous church dinners at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City. She was an avid reader and a prolific gardener. She was also a talented visual artist and musician; for twenty-five years she was one of the organists at St. James. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Forest City and Our Lady of Ransom Oratory in Guckeen, MN.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert Hadacek, and their five children: Robert Jr. (Marla) Hadacek, Klemme, IA; Cathy (Jim) Foos, Thompson, IA; Lori (David) Chaplin, Nampa, ID; Tom (Sue Anne) Hadacek, Forest City, IA; and Michael (Marlena) Hadacek, Forest City, IA. She is also survived by four siblings: John J. (Cleo) Henderson, Rochester, MN; Mary (Gary) Malfero, Mason City, IA; Dan (Bonnie) Henderson, Ireton, IA; and David (Laura) Henderson, Mason City, IA. She has thirteen grandchildren and eleven nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother (March, 2011) and her father (1974).
