Steven Bruce Clark, the son of Marcus and Phyllis (Read) Clark, was born December 22, 1957 at Fairbury, IL. He graduated from Fort Central High School in 1976. Steve worked at AgVantage FS in Piper City, IL and later transferred to the FS plant in Williams, IA. Steve had attended NIACC in Mason City. On July 1, 1995 he married Mary Pleggenkuhle Brincks at Plegg's Lake in rural Alpha, IA. They lived in Garner where Steve was employed for the past thirteen years in the public works department for the City of Garner. He enjoyed golfing, collecting sports memorabilia, watching WWF wrestling and was an avid reader of WW II history. His pride and joy were his six grandkids. He especially enjoyed playing ball, cards and zingos with his grandkids, and getting beat by them, as well as pink and purple polka-dotted pedicures. He was a die-hard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and couldn't wait to tell Mary that the Bears signed her favorite Viking, Jared Allen. Along with his Bears football team, he enjoyed the Cubs and even the Iowa Hawkeyes! Steve also had enjoyed the hunting trips he had taken with his dad and golfing with his dad and brother Mark. He loved his family so much. He also enjoyed the many trips throughout the United States he and Mary went on, with the last one including a visit to the Football Hall of Fame to see all of his favorite Chicago Bears players and coaches with his all time favorite Mike Ditka. One of Steve's other interests, strangely enough was reading obituaries & exchanging them with our good friend Mary!!!!!!

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garner and the Garner Golf Association.

Steve is survived by his wife, Mary, of Garner; two step-children, Aicia (Dan) Burns and their four children, Kaitlyn, Jillian, Jacob and Luke of Algona and Erik (Natalie) Brincks and their two sons, Calvin and James of Eagan, MN; two sisters, Susan (Gary) Massey of Piper City, IL and Linda (Pat) Murphy of Laura, IL; a brother, Mark (Melba) Clark of Reddick, IL; a sister-in-law, Jane (Eugene) Nuss of Hawkeye, IA; two brothers-in-law, Collin Jensen of West Union and Kim (Susan) Pleggenkuhle of Clear Lake; aunts and uncles, Janet Monk of Thawville, IL, Nadine Johnson of New Lenox, IL, Rita (Jim)Brown of Wheaton, IL and Luverne (Ivy) Clark of Rockwell, IL; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Heather Clark; many cousins; and friends.
