GARNER - Terry E. Hagen, age 53 of Garner, IA, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in rural Garner.



Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 18 2009 at First Baptist Church in Forest City with Pastor Eric Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Ellington Township Cemetery in rural Forest City.



Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, August 17th at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home and an hour prior to service at the church.



Terry E. Hagen was born on January 17, 1956 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Ray and Lavonne (Jenson) Hagen. He received his elementary education in Hanlontown and graduated from Forest City High School.





On July 6, 1982 he was united in marriage to Dawn Anderson in Mason City, Iowa. Terry attended Waldorf College and finished his four year degree at Warburg with a Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Business and Economics.





He worked in the Accounting Department at Winnebago Industries for 6 years. He then pursued a law degree at the University of South Dakota and graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree. He then continued his employment at Winnebago as a corporate lawyer until the present.





He had a love for motorcycles and collecting old John Deere tractors and treasured time spent with his parents and family.





Terry is survived by his wife, Dawn of 27 years, 2 children: Jeremiah, 18 and Justin, 14. Also surviving are his parents, Ray and Lavonne Hagen and mother-in-law Doris Anderson; brother Ron (Becky) Hagen of Forest City and sister Melissa (Doug) Knudtson of Worthington, MN; brother-in-laws Mike (Patti) Anderson of Chandler, AZ and Mark (Chris) Anderson of Fertile, IA and sister-in-law Deb Anderson of Phoenix, AZ. Also many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.





He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Robert Anderson and grandparents.
