Anne Carlene (Pipes) Rhody-Wilder, 55, of Forest City, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date which they will release for loved ones and friends.
Anne was the daughter of Royce Dean Pipes, Jr. and Kathleen (Milli) Pipes, and was born August 7, 1970, in Fridley, Minnesota. She attended high school at Irondale High School. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition and a Master’s in Biomolecular Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She was also a P.A.
Anne is survived by her five children, Kiona, Justice, Aaron, Luke, and Elizabeth Rhody, all of Forest City, Iowa; her mother, Kathleen Pipes of Murfreesboro, TN; step-mother, Cheryl Wilder of Highland Haven, TX; sister, Maria Moen (husband Jim, children Bryan, Jessica, David) of Nashville, TN; brother, (Royce) Dean Pipes, III (daughter Sage) of Chicago, IL; and her children’s father, Edward Rhody (son Tyler Rhody, Anne’s step-son) of Sand Springs, OK.
She was preceded in death by her father, Royce Dean Pipes, Jr.
Anne was a fiercely devoted and loving mother to her children, a skilled practitioner of natural and holistic medicine, and was connected to the world around her in deep and meaningful ways. She touched lives around her with a grace and magic that delighted and soothed all who were lucky enough to have met or known her. Anne approached her life with a relentless love, energy, and enthusiasm, always striving to give 100% effort and never resorting to the bare minimum. She attacked every day with a renewed fervor, always seeking to broaden her horizons, push the limits of human knowledge, and constantly do the best for herself and others. Anne was a model figure of consistency, integrity, humility, and generosity to all her family, her children, and her friends, but most importantly, to herself. Her dedication to her family, her faith, and her various endeavors in and around the home inspired countless others around her to shed the many burdens they were carrying and enjoy this temporary theatre we call life.
Anne will forever be remembered by everyone who knew and loved her as a kind, caring, selfless, loving soul who could light up a room with her humor and navigate a conversation of severe gravity with sensitivity and compassion. She was a blessing to all who met her, and she was reminded of that by her eldest daughter, Kiona, as she ended the journey in this temporary domicile to begin anew in her heavenly forever home. Anne Carlene (Pipes) Wilder was a tremendous mother, a beloved daughter and sister, a model character and friend, but most importantly, a deft listener. Anne often quoted Ralph Waldo Emerson’s intuitive declaration, “Let us be silent, so that we may hear the whispers of God.” As she moves from this life into eternal grace, she leaves behind a simple reminder to those who knew and loved her: Let yourself be silent, so you not only hear the whispers of God, but hear the insightful, nurturing wisdom of a woman cherished by many, but loved by many more.
