Arlene Bertha Rasmus, the daughter of Fred and Ester (Priebe) Schmidt, was born June 22, 1924 on the family farm southwest of Klemme. She was baptized on September 14, 1924 at Immanuel Reformed Church and confirmed on April 15, 1938. Arlene graduated from Klemme High School in 1942. After graduating from high school, she remained on the farm. During WWII, Arlene met Irwin Dean Rasmus on a blind date. Arlene worked at Winnebago Industries for approximately 22 years until her retirement. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with Dean, crocheting and knitting items for Christmas gifts.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
