Donald H. Dallman, 93, of Britt, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, January 15, 2026, at First Lutheran Church in Britt with Rev. Anna Wolf officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be held 11 a.m., Friday at Evergreen Cemetery with military rites by the Britt Veterans Ceremonial Unit.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday at Cataldo Funeral Home, 178 First Ave., S.W. in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the Britt American Legion.
Donald H. Dallman, the son of Otto and Alice (Smidt) Dallman, was born on September 17, 1932, on a farm near Wesley. He attended country school near his home and graduated from Britt High School in 1949. Following graduation, he worked in Fort Lauderdale, FL, before being drafted into the U.S. Army. Don received his basic training at Fort Riley, KS, and was stationed in Fort Tilden, NY. On July 25, 1954, he married Dorothy Dunmire from Titonka. They settled on a farm by Hutchins where they raised their four sons and farmed. Don retired in 1998 and moved into their home in Britt. In his retirement, he continued to help on the farm as needed and enjoyed attending auctions.
He was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church and a proud member of the Britt American Legion.
Don is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dorothy, of Britt; four sons, Bill of Hutchins, Ed (Emily) of Hutchins, Jim of Brownsville, TX, and Kurt (Doris) of Garner; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parent-in-law; a brother, Louie (Kae) Dallman; two sisters, Beverly (Gene) Huff and Emily (Paul) Eisenmann; and in-laws, Carol (Hank) Kohls and Katie (Tub) Sexton.
