Gabrielle Dawne Trunkhill, the daughter of James and Suzanne (Christiansen) Brighton, was born on March 29, 1979, in Britt, Iowa. She grew up in Titonka and graduated from Forest City High School in 1997. During her high school years, Gabrielle actively participated in the Girl Scouts of America and dedicated several summers as a camp counselor at Camp Tanglefoot in Clear Lake. In June 1997, she welcomed her first child, Alex. On August 12, 2000, Gabrielle married William Trunkhill at Good Hope Lutheran Church near Titonka, and together they welcomed four children: Christopher, Joseph, Benjamin, and Madeline. The couple made Titonka their home, where Gabrielle operated a daycare for a few years and held various positions within the community, including employment at 3M in Forest City, Snap-On in Algona, and the Titonka Care Center as a CNA. Most recently, she found great fulfillment in her role at ACCURA Healthcare in Bancroft. Gabrielle loved her family and cherished the moments spent together outdoors, enjoying activities such as kayaking, gardening, and visiting playgrounds. Her commitment to her community was evident through her service on the Titonka Library Board, the Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka School Board, and the Titonka City Council.
