Jerry F. Barker, 70, of Britt passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 30th at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Fr. Paulraj Sellam officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday at Cataldo Funeral Home, 178 First Ave. S.W., Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be directed to West Hancock Ambulance Service or the West Hancock Athletic Boosters.
Jerry Francis Barker, son of George and Josephine (De Weerdt) Barker, was born on February 18, 1956, in Britt, Iowa. Raised on a farm southeast of Britt, Jerry completed his education at Britt High School, graduating in 1974. He dedicated 45 years of his career to Iowa Mold Tooling in Garner, where he worked as a parts fabricator until his retirement in 2020. On July 10, 1982, Jerry married Cynthia “Cindy” Kerns at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt. The couple made their home in Britt, where they raised their family together. Jerry was a devoted grandfather who cherished attending his grandchildren’s activities. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and was an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR. A passionate supporter of local and regional sports teams, Jerry followed the Iowa Hawkeyes, Seattle Seahawks, and West Hancock Eagles with great enthusiasm. He was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Cindy, of Britt; three children, Valerie (Martin) Karsjens of Britt, Brandi (Rusty) Hadacek of Britt and Jesse (Haley) Barker of Klemme; grandchildren, Hailey Gilliland, Bailey Karsjens (Alex Trueblood), Hannah Barker, Jennifer, James and Jerry Karsjens, Racelyn and Tryce Hadacek and Hendrik Barker; a great-grandson; his siblings, Joyce (Roger) Church of Garner, Pat (Rick) O’Toole of Cedar Rapids, Mary (Len) McCormick of Britt, Bill Barker of Britt, Ann Barker of Britt, Mona (Jeff) Secora of Mason City and Teresa Kerns of Britt; sister-in-law, Linda Barker of Britt; his mother-in-law, Jeanice Kerns of Britt; Cindy’s siblings, Garry Kerns of Britt, Doug (Janelle) Kerns of Bettendorf and David Kerns of Buda, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Barker; and father-in-law, Larry Kerns.
