JoAnn Langfald, 86 of Mason City, formerly of Forest City died Sunday, April 28, 2019 surrounded by her family at the Heritage Care Center in Mason City, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 P.M., Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 N. Clark St., Forest City, a funeral service will follow at 6:00 P.M. with Dr. Pat Hall of Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake officiating.

Burial will be held in Madison Township Cemetery on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the JoAnn Langfald memorial fund in care of the family.

Marylyn JoAnn (Olson) Langfald was born October 15, 1932 in rural Leland, Iowa the daughter of Melvin and Julia (Martinson) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Center Lutheran Church at Lake Mills, IA. She attended elementary school in Leland and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1950.

JoAnn was united in marriage to Robert O’dean Langfald on May 5, 1951 at Center Lutheran Church. JoAnn was a farmgirl!! She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing with friends, spending time with her family and she was a wonderful cook. She volunteered for many organizations but felt very passionate about the time she spent with the Hospice Organization. After farming in rural Forest City over 50 years the couple moved to Mason City in 2004. JoAnn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, Iowa. She entered the Heritage Care Center in 2015 where she resided until her passing. JoAnn will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

JoAnn leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 68 years, Robert Langfald; daughter, Diane (Langfald) Zuehlke of Mason City; son, Dan Langfald and wife Kim of Forest City; two grandchildren, Joe (Lindsay) Langfald of Forest City and Joshua Langfald; five great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Webster of Charles City, Iowa and three nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Julia Olson; infant sister, Beverly Diane and grandson, Christopher.

The family of JoAnn would like to thank Heritage Care Center in Mason City and Hospice for the wonderful care she received.
