GARNER – Joseph E. Deibler, 67, of Garner died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his home.

A memorial mass will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 1st at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Msgr. John W. Hemann officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner with military rites by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. Cataldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Mercy Cancer Center.

Joseph Eugene Deibler, the son of Merle and Ireta (Ross) Deibler, was born June 10, 1947 in Forest City. He graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1965. Joe served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Garner and worked as an equipment operator at Gjellefald Construction in Forest City for nine years, R and B Machine in Garner for two years and Yohnco in Garner. Joe was also the CEO of the Miller Community Center. He enjoyed collecting and restoring old cars, tractors and Coca Cola memorabilia.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Garner American Legion.

Joe is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Duncan of Orlando, FL and Christina (Pedro) Zacharias of Hampton; four grandchildren, Jeremy Duncan, Jessica Wallace, Joshua Deibler and Taeya Deibler; three great- grandchildren, Robert, Izick and X’zarian; his special friend, Jackie Loterbour of Garner; thirteen siblings, Jack (Lois) Deibler of Huntington, IN, Jim Deibler of Miller, Donna (Dennis) Easley of Mason City, Rita (Martin) Furst of Garner, Bob (Diane) Deibler of Garner, Bill (Diana) Deibler of Hayfield, Betty Knazs of Baton Rouge, LA, Kathryn (Dave) Pueggel of Clear Lake, Tom (Elaine) Deibler of Garner, Patricia (George) Bethel of Arvada, CO, Barbara (Brian) O’Rourke of Tucson, AZ, Peg (Jon) Lemke of Urbandale and Janet (Steve) Goll of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mary Evans.
