Karen Ann Kelly (Slayter) Bohn, age 84 passed away May 22, 2026 in Denton, Texas. She was born August 4, 1941 to Edward and Dorothy Kelly in Dallas, Texas.

Karen was raised in Oak Cliff, Texas and graduated from Sunset High School and then went to Tyler Junior College. She was married to her first husband Edward Earl Slayter for approx. 29 years and to this union three sons were born, Kelly Joe, Kevin Earl and Kenneth Tod Slayter. They divorced in 1989. She was a third-generation church member at Oak Cliff Christian Church and also raised their family there. She was very active in the church and played piano for their Sunday morning worship class. Karen also sang in the Church Choir for many years. In later years while singing in the Choir she met Richard Gordon Bohn. Their relationship grew and they went on to get married on October 5, 1990, at Oak Cliff Christian Church where they met. Karen worked most of her career at Safeco Title in Duncanville, where she was VP and Branch Manager for the Duncanville office. After both Karen and Richard retired they moved to Sun City Retirement village in Georgetown, Texas where they lived for 23 years. They enjoyed going on frequent cruises to many ports and also taking many road trips to see family in Iowa and across Texas. During retirement Karen & Richard worked weekends at the Texas State Capital gift shop and had their second retirement after 10 years.

Karen is survived by many who loved her, first son Kelly and his wife Becky, children Justin, Jessica (and Josh), Andrew (and Aunita), David and Sydney; second son Kevin and his wife Deborah, sons Landon, Cameron (and Sarah), Zachary (and Rachel); third son Kenny and his wife Claudia, sons Matthew (and Andrew), Brad (and Kara); Great-Grandchildren include Londyn, Sydney, Evelyn, Callie, Olivia, Riley, James, Peter, Audrey, and Ethan.

She is also survived by her step-children Steven G. Bohn and wife Jackie, son Jackson; Alan J. Bohn and wife Pamela; Michael R. Bohn and wife Nancy, children Brandon, Aaron and Karissa; Richard E. Bohn and wife Sue, daughter Jenifer along with her mother, Missy Bohn; Christina M. Chapman and husband Todd, children Brittany, Kendra and Megan; and son Theodore P. Bohn and his wife Melissa Ann and her sons Tyler Monroe and Keegan Peyton. Karen and Richard were blessed with a loving family including a total of 31 Great- Grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents Edward and Dorothy Kelly, brother Edward Kelly Jr. and her beloved husband Richard Bohn.

Services will be at the Rolling Oaks Memorial Center, 400 S. Freeport Parkway., Coppell TX 75019, Friday June 5, 2026 at 11:00 am.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2026 at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner.
