Lloyd G. Bartelt, 85, of Woden, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026 at Titonka Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Titonka with Rev. John Heille officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 310 Main St., in Woden.
Lloyd Gene Bartelt, the son of Harry and Marie (Brandt) Bartelt, was born on July 18, 1940, at the Algona Hospital, the fourth of six sons. He was baptized and confirmed at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka. Lloyd attended country school at German Township No. 4 for about 8 months, then transferred to Titonka Consolidated School, where he graduated from high school in 1958. In 1959, he graduated from the Farm Operations Winter Quarter at Iowa State University and then began farming with his father. On September 16, 1972, he married Verla Jean Stohr at First Lutheran Church in Britt. They moved to the family farm near Woden. In 1983, they adopted their daughter, Barbara Jean. She was 12 days old when they brought her home. She was the joy of his life. Lloyd was a dedicated and hardworking individual who enjoyed farming, a pursuit he continued until his retirement in 2017. He enjoyed sharing his love of farming by giving tractor rides. Throughout his working career, Lloyd held various positions including roles at Winnebago Industries, building steel bins in the area, and working at Bomgaars in Forest City from 2003 until retiring in December of 2021. Lloyd served his country in the Army National Guard.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council for two terms. Lloyd served one term on the Hancock County Board and on the Winnebago Mutual Insurance Board as past president and vice president.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Verla of Woden; daughter, Barbara (Adam) Parker and their daughter, Shyla, of Juneau, AK; two siblings, Wayne (Eljean) Bartelt of Cedar Falls and Glenn Bartelt of Maquoketa; three sisters-in-law, Julie Bartelt of Mediapolis, IA, Arlene Kruse of Worthington, MN, and Marie Stohr of Minneapolis, MN; a brother-in-law, Beuford (Rosalind) Stohr of Woden; and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stillborn sister; brothers, Merlin (Darlene) Bartelt, H. Keith (Alice) Bartelt, and Dale Bartelt; a sister-in-law, Margaret “Peggy” Bartelt; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Kruse and Vernon and Edgar Stohr.
