Mark Alan Alm, 59, of Garner, formerly of Forest City, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Concord Care Center in Garner.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 19, 2016 at Cataldo Schott Funeral Home, 505 North Clark St. Forest City with Pastor Rod Hopp of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Madison Cemetery in Forest City.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Mark Alan Alm was born September 9, 1957 in Forest City the son of Luther and Avis (Olson) Alm. Mark attended and graduated from Forest City Schools in 1976.
Mark enjoyed farming with his father for many years in rural Forest City.
He enjoyed riding horses in his younger years, hunting, collecting toy miniature tractors and watching NASCAR and his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. Mark was a passionate member of Pheasants Forever.
He enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mark is survived by his siblings, Linda (Bob) Hoveland of Miller and Cindy (Dale) Lipp of Nora Springs; niece and nephews, Jacob, Samantha and fiancé Cole Davison and Hunter; great- grandnephew, Lane; uncles, Carl (Dollie) Olson of Clear Lake and Palmer Olson of California and Dale Haes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
