Mark A. Hefter, 67, of Garner, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2026, at his home in Prairie View Apartments.
Mark Anthony Hefter, the son of Eugene and Ann (Loosen) Hefter, was born on November 3, 1958, in Hartford, Wisconsin. He graduated from Slinger High School in 1976. Mark lived in several states throughout the Midwest and was employed as a truck driver until his retirement. He loved the freedom of the open road and the experiences that came with life behind the wheel. Mark found a way to enjoy life despite the challenges he faced. He made friends wherever he landed, creating stories and laughter along the way. He leaves behind fond memories for family and friends to cherish.
Mark is survived by his siblings, Greg (Jan) Hefter, Doug (Martha) Hefter, Kay (Jay) Kaun, June (Mark) Ernst, and Julie (Mike) Hamm; his nephews West (Brittany) and Nicholas (Kayla) Hefter; Alexander and Jonathan Hamm; his nieces Lauren and Sarah Ernst; great-nephew, Renn Hefter; great-nieces Alice, Quinn and Mavis Hefter; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Ann; and an infant son, Erik Hefter.
In keeping with Mark’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Washington County Memorial Park Cemetery.
