Nancy Eileen Kaduce, the daughter of Marvin and Cleola “Koky” (Boller) Lackore, was born April 14, 1950, in Forest City. Nancy graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1968 and continued her education at Waldorf College in Forest City. Nancy graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a music education degree. On June 17, 1972, she was united in marriage to Rick Kaduce at the United Methodist Church in Garner. They made homes in Garner and Larchwood, Iowa before settling in Rockford in 1986 where Nancy was the elementary music teacher until her retirement in 2011. Mrs. Kaduce touched countless children’s lives, instilling a love of music with the use of her guitar. Over her 30-year teaching career, she was known for the elaborate music programs her students performed. After retirement, Nancy continued to serve RRMR schools as a substitute teacher. Nancy and Rick continued to live in Rockford until 2021 when they moved to Sioux Rapids to be near their daughter and her family. Nancy’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She loved supporting them from the stands at their sporting and music events. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Hawkeyes, Vikings, and as of late the Indiana Fever. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.
She was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church and the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rick of Sioux Rapids; two children, Lindsey (Ed) Madsen of Storm Lake and Zachary (Katie) Kaduce of Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren, E.J., Marley and Chet Madsen; three sisters, Peggy (Leo) Dominguez of Tucson, Arizona, Jill (Dennis) Schott of Garner and Sally (David) Bergman of Britt; her sisters-in-law, Doris (Kurt) Dallman of Garner and Marcele Kaduce of Solon, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Verlyn (Mary) Kaduce of Garner, and Al (Dawn) Kaduce of Urbandale; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harris “Skip” Lackore, April 14, 1986, and her brother-in-law, Carroll Kaduce.
