Teresa M. Preuschl, 88, of Garner passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at her home.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Fr. Paulraj Sellam officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with a rosary at 3:15 p.m., followed by a Scriptural wake service.

Memorials may be directed to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Teresa Marie Preuschl, the daughter of Henry and Agnes (Kopacek) Rayhons, was born on March 27, 1938, on the family farm northwest of Garner. She attended country school in Garfield Township near her home and graduated from Garner High School in 1956. She met her husband, LeRoy, in 1955 at a dance at Duncan Hall. They were married on January 13, 1958, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. The couple lived in Mason City, Manchester, Fort Dodge, Webster City, and in 2004, moved to her parents’ home in Garner. Teresa worked at Damon’s Department Store and Marshall and Swift while living in Mason City. She loved to play cards and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and baking buns for family and friends.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Catholic Workman (now FCSLA), Red Hat Society and the Garfield Hobby Club.

Teresa is survived by her husband, LeRoy; daughter, Beverly (Keith) Wilson of Polk City; three grandchildren, Bradley Selken, Brooke Wilson and Kailey (Chad) Gilmer; a great grandson, Liam and a second on-the-way; her siblings, Evelyn Grandgenett of Mason City, Agnes (Gerald) Zeihan of Marshalltown, Lawrence (Andrea) Rayhons of Lenox, George (Mary) Rayhons of New Braunfels, TX, Mark (Kathy) Rayhons of Clear Lake and Mary (Gene) Rasmussen of Ames; a sister-in-law, Lois Rayhons of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara Selken; brothers, Francis and Henry (Marvlyn) Rayhons; sister-in-law, Carole Rayhons; and brother-in-law, Paul Grandgenett.
