Wayne Robert Eenhuis, the son of Fred and Amelia (Lassahn) Eenhuis, was born September 4, 1952, in Mason City. After graduating from Britt High School in 1970, Wayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War for 18 months, beginning his service in June 1972. On September 9, 1972, Wayne married the love of his life, Barbara Kaduce, at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Britt, where he and Barb built their life together. Wayne pursued further education at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in Mason City and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University. Wayne devoted 19 years of his professional life to IMT in Garner, where he worked as a welder and eventually became assistant plant manager. In 1994, Wayne and Barb relocated to Waverly, where he continued his career at Terex Cranes until 1998. They then made a move to Olathe, Kansas, where Wayne furthered his work with Terex before embracing his entrepreneurial spirit and starting his own remodeling business in 2003. A motorcycle accident in 2006 changed Wayne's life significantly, as he and Barb faced a long road to recovery. They returned to Garner a year later to be closer to family, and Wayne established Eenhuis Construction, where he had the joy of working alongside his son, Eric.

He was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Garner, Edwin Jante VFW Post 5515 and belonged to Ducks Unlimited.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Barbara of Garner; two children, Eric (Brandi) Eenhuis of Garner and Jill Eenhuis (Danny Barnett) of Lenexa, KS; four grandchildren, Erica and Ben Eenhuis and Rylee and Tagan Barnett; three siblings, Linda Barker of Britt, Larry (Barb) Eenhuis of Garner and Sherry Seidel of Tucson, AZ; a sister-in-law, Martha Eenhuis of Big Lake, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Eenhuis; two sisters, Connie Rose Eenhuis (18 months) and Janet (Dave) Gerdes; and brother-in-law, Richard Barker.
