Yvonne Antonette Greiman, the daughter of Tony and Martha (Envoldson) Rasmussen, was born May 31, 1930, at Park Hospital in Mason City, Iowa. The family lived on a farm north of Garner before relocating to the town. She graduated from Garner High School in 1948, where she was actively involved in band, clarinet quartet, mixed chorus, girls’ trio, and girls' sextet. Yvonne served as the 1948 Garner Band Queen and represented her school at the North Iowa Band Festival. She received an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from Colorado Women’s College in Denver, Colorado, in 1950. Yvonne continued her studies at Iowa State University, where she joined the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and graduated in 1952. After teaching at Rockford Day Nursery in Rockford, Illinois, she married Don Greiman in 1953. The couple moved to Washington, D.C., where Yvonne taught at Naylor Road Nursery School in Anacostia, Maryland, and Don served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force at Bolling Air Force Base. Yvonne and Don returned to Iowa and built a new home on their farm located south of Garner. They successfully raised their family and developed a distinguished purebred herd of Angus cattle. Yvonne was very supportive and proud of her sons’ participation in school and community activities, and their accomplishments exhibiting Angus cattle. In addition, she was glad her grandsons became the fifth generation to raise Angus cattle.

Yvonne was an active community member, serving in various organizations. She was a member of the Garner Peace Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and held positions in the Women’s Missionary Society. In 1954, she helped establish Bridge Club and was a member of Progressive Club for 70 years. Yvonne served on the Garner Library Board, joined Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Wa-Tan-Ye, and was a Cub Scout den leader. She maintained contact with her classmates from Garner High School and regularly met with a group known as the Ladies of '48.

Yvonne provided significant support to her husband, Don, throughout his tenure as a board member of the Iowa State Fair. She compiled a scrapbook for each of the 44 State Fairs during his service. Both Yvonne and Don were dedicated Iowa State alumni, maintaining season tickets for football and basketball for 64 years, and were honored with Cy’s Favorite Alum award in 2017.

Survivors are her son, Brad Greiman and his wife, Julie, of Chisago City, MN and their children, Josh Carver (Shannon) and Kelsey Johnson (Blake), and great-grandson Henry Johnson; her son, Ted Greiman, and his wife, Mary, of Garner, and their children, Kyle Greiman (special friend, Macy) and Cole Greiman (Bayley).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; and her parents, Tony and Martha Rasmussen.
